ARP ESSER Information and Survey for Community Input
School districts in Arkansas have received three relatively large pots of money from the federal government to use for COVID related issues. Lead Hill School District has been allocated the following amounts:
1. CARES ACT (ESSER I) - allocated Summer of 2020 - $160,432.52
*All ESSER I funds were used for personal protective equipment (PPE), cleaning supplies, technology (includes Chromebooks, licenses for use of online programs, etc), bottle fillers, etc.
2. ESSER II - allocated Summer 2021 - $645,490.56 -
*The district has spent about $390,000 of these funds so far. Purchases have included PPE, cleaning supplies, curriculum and support materials, technology (includes chromebooks/surface pros, hotspots, licenses for online programs and online learning, etc), new dishwasher for cafeteria, etc.
*The remaining funds are scheduled for use to upgrade HVAC systems to increase productivity of systems to improve air quality.
3. ARP ESSER - allocated Summer 2021 - $1,451,275.94
*20% of these funds were/are to be used for Learning Loss due to COVID
**To combat learning loss we hired three paraprofessionals to do some one-on-one tutoring and two full time and one part time certified staff to address student learning loss. We also provided summer school for students who needed additional assistance.
*Other purchases -
**new keyless entry system and a new video surveillance to monitor entrance into buildings and to document close contacts with covid positive individuals
**Air Quality testing
**Assessment of HVAC systems
*The remaining funds are scheduled to be used for renovation of buildings H and J. These buildings are used for tutoring due to learning loss and for digital learning students.
This survey will be open for input through Friday, August 19, 2022.
